Frequently Asked Questions
1. What kind of home time can I expect?
Generally, you will earn one day off for each week out. We know that home time is extremely important for over-the-road drivers. You will be assigned a Driver Manager who will work with you to ensure your success, including getting you home.
2. Does MTC offer a rider policy?
Yes. May Trucking Company’s rider policy allows you to take a rider for a specified period of time and you are eligible to take on a rider as soon as you solo out. A simple phone call to your Driver Manager will activate your rider policy.
3. What are the average miles for each division?
Both divisions average about 11,000 miles per month.
4. What kind of benefits does May Trucking Company offer? MTC offers all Company Drivers the ability to participate in a comprehensive affordable medical, dental, life and prescription insurance plan, 90 days after hire. In addition a 401(k) participation is offered with a company match after 6 months of employment.
5. What is MTC's pet policy?
Unfortunately, for health and safety reasons, we are not able to allow Company Drivers to have pets in their trucks.
If you have your own truck, or choose to lease a truck, you are allowed to have a pet with you.
6. If I have a felony conviction will I still qualify to drive for MTC?
All felony convictions must be at least 5 years old. Each felony conviction is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
7. I have a driving under the influence conviction. Will this keep me from being qualified? A driving under the influence conviction must be five years or older, more than one in a lifetime will disqualify you.
9. What if I have been convicted of a crime involving drugs. Will this keep me from being qualified? We will not qualify anyone with any type of drug conviction within the last five years, and all convictions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
10. What if my driving record isn't perfect?
May Trucking Company reviews all motor vehicle records for each driver applicant. You will be approved before you are scheduled for orientation.
